Back Rd

Built into a hillside, Back Rd offered fabulous views and a challenging site and build.  Gareth and Christina wanted improve the living areas in the house and refurbish all internal spaces including creating a home cinema / games room.  Various designs were investigated including a house rebuild.  The scheme realised added a zinc clad extension to the lounge and opened up the hallway and kitchen internally to form a large open plan space.  Working with the client on the interiors, am architect renovated all internal spaces including bringing previous voids into use as pantry and storage areas. 

The back garden was terraced with a rear slope up to farmland and offered little useable space.  A new retaining wall was built which created a larger terrace where a garden 'braai' room was built with open and covered dining and leisure spaces ensuring a useable garden was created.
